More about this bundle

Behaviour management isn't just about controlling the person's behaviour for them. It is as much about empowering them to take control of their own behaviour, and ensure that they make good choices in terms of controlling themselves.

Arguably, behaviour management is more about empowerment to make positive choices, than it is about rules and restrictions.

This bundle of products is designed to try and provide the person with some visual tools that they need in order to mange their own behaviour.

The Interactive Behaviour Board can be used to identify particular behaviours on which to focus as part of a targeted behaviour strategy (both positive and negative). The Warning Board can be used to provide a gentle, non verbal. reminder when behaviour is starting to escalate. This gives the person a chance to get themselves 'back on track' before it becomes too much of an issue. The reward chart is used for motivation, to encourage participation and enthusiasm for the behaviour management plan.

All of our products are made from plastic, so are extremely durable and hard wearing. They are also waterproof and washable, and can easily be cleaned with soap and water. This is particularly important where resources are shared between children, or where the resources travel from setting to setting with the child.

All of our resources were designed using the strategies and knowledge we have gained through not only raising our own autistic son, but also through over 20 years working hands on within the autism community.

All 3 boards are A4 in size - the perfect size to ensure they remain easy to see, yet retain portability when required. Symbols are 4.5cm - ideal to easily see, whilst being the right size for small hands to manipulate.

Behaviour Warning Board

The Behaviour Warning Board is an important tool to be able to help the person to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

It allows a parent/teacher/carer to alert the person that their behaviour is starting to become problematic, without the need for raised voices, or what could be interpreted as a verbal confrontation.

This then gives the person time to think, and modify their behaviour accordingly. The fact that the entire warning system can be conducted silently is extremely important, as for many on the spectrum they can feel victimised or targeted when being verbally warned. A silent warning is far less threatening, and is usually accepted much more readily.

Interactive Behaviour Board

The Interactive Behaviour Board by Autism Supplies and Developments is one of our most popular tools to help manage behaviour.

It comes with a selection of behaviours, including positive behaviours (that you want to encourage), and negative behaviours (that you want to discourage). These can then be placed on the board along with a tick or a cross, depending on whether you want to encourage or discourage the behaviour. This means that you can customise the board to show only the information that is relevant to the specific person it is supporting.

It can then easily be changed to show different information if you would like to support a different person, or the same person in a different environment.

Reward Chart

The Reward Chart by Autism Supplies and Developments is an extremely useful motivating tool to help people to manage their own behaviour.

The person first selects the reward that they would like to work towards getting. 12 common rewards are included, though because the board uses hook and loop fastenings it is compatible with your existing symbol library.

The person can then begin to earn stars by doing a number of pre-agreed things. This could be behaving in a certain manner, not doing something, or completing a list of tasks. Once they have collected 5 stars, they receive their reward.
