Optional Extras:
Increase the flexibility of your schedules with one of our expansion packs. Both packs contain a film of self-adhesive, pre scored plastic film. The pre-printed expansion packs contain images on the theme in the title. The blank symbols pack has a sheet of pre-scored plastic film, and images of your choosing can be printed using a regular laser printer or alternatively drawn on by hand with a permanent pen. Once the images are on the plastic film, simply remove from the backing paper and place onto the blank plastic symbol squares included in the pack.

Verbal communication is often difficult for those on the spectrum. Whether that due to the time required to process information before acting upon it, being able to actually find the words in order to convey what they would like, or simply not understanding the process of communication with others, using visual communication is often used successfully where verbal communication does not.
This bundle is the perfect introduction to visual communication. Using our choice boards, the person can quickly see the benefits of communicating with others for themselves, as they are able to make meaningful choices about their own lives and what they want.
The communication keyring is designed to be the perfect size for smaller hands, and allows the person to quickly and relatively easily communicate things that they would otherwise not be able to.
All our resources are made from plastic, so are incredibly durable and hardwearing, and can be cleaned easily. This is especially important as the person themselves will be using them, and it might be beneficial to use them in multiple settings that the person attends.
The keyring symbols are 7cm, meaning they are easily manipulated and can be kept in your pocket for easy access (and yet are still easy to see and recognise). The boards are both A4, with a selection of 15 different common symbols. Each symbol is 4.5cm - again, the ideal size to easily handly whilst see and recognise.

Activity Choice Board
This A4 plastic Activity Choice board comes with a selection of 16 common indoor and outdoor activities.
A few options can be placed on the board from which the person can choose. The number placed on the board is dependent on the abilities of the person it is being used to support. Some people will be able to make a meaningful choice if there is only a couple of options from which they can choose, whereas some people will be able to choose from a much greater number of options.
Being able to make basic choices about their lives is often a source of much frustration for many autistic and non-verbal people. Even those that can communicate verbally to a limited extent will often have trouble making choices. Echolalia is common amongst those on the spectrum, and so when presented with a verbal choice they will often simply repeat the last thing they heard. This can appear to be them making a choice, however if this is not what they actually mean then treating this as an actual choice they are making can lead to increasing frustration and confusion.
Snack Choice Board
This A4 plastic Snack and Drink Choice board comes with a selection of 15 common snacks and drinks.
A few options can be placed on the board from which the person can choose. The number placed on the board is dependent on the abilities of the person it is being used to support. Some people will be able to make a meaningful choice if there is only a couple of options from which they can choose, whereas some people will be able to choose from a much greater number of options.
A variety of healthy options are included to encourage a healthy mindset and positive choice making. The board is suitable for both children and adults alike, as there are also options for hot drinks such as tea and coffee.
Being able to make choices about their lives is an important step towards independence, and often form an important part of Person Centred Planning (PCPs) and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Communication Keyring
The lack of adequate communication skills is often a key source of great frustration for those on the autistic spectrum, or those with limited verbal abilities.
This useful, pocket sized, keyring, comes with a collection of 16 symbol cards for users to express their basic wants and needs. It allows them to easily express how they are feelings (e.g. hot/cold, hungry/thirsty etc), and also what they would like (e.g. toilet, car, to go home). It also comes with one blank symbol.
It is fantastic to promote communication, reduce stress and meltdowns, and often has a massively positive impact on the user’s quality of life.
Designed initially for autistic children, it has been used successfully with a wide age range and also alternative diagnoses such as learning disabilities, ADHD, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and even dementia. It has also been used in pre-schools and other early years setting extremely successfully. Being made from plastic means that both the board and symbols are flexible, yet remain strong and extremely durable.
